Run by two best friends, who share their love of animals, Tails & Tinctures is small business with the goal of helping to bring affordability back to animal care.

Whilst we have an emphasis on complementary health and enrichment items to help maintain your pet’s wellbeing, we also stock a range of conventional products to make sure no animal is left behind.

Meet the Team

Eden
Founder/Administrator

My name is Eden and I am the founder of Tails and Tinctures.  ​8 years ago I followed my love of animals into receiving my Certificate in Animal Technology (Strand in Veterinary Nursing Assistant) Level 5 through Toi Ohomai.  A couple years later this was followed by receiving an additional Level 3 Certificate in Equine Knowledge through Southern Institute of Technology.

Skip a few years, add in a husband, daughter, 7 sheep, 6 ducks, 5 chickens, 3 cats, 2 horses and a dog... and here we are.

I now want to share with you all the products and knowledge I have acquired over the years

Makayla
Communications Director

I am Makayla the communication director for Tails and Tinctures. I grew up around animals, so in 2018 it seemed natural to complete my level 3 certificate in Animal Care and Husbandry at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology, I then returned in 2019 to complete my Certificate in Veterinary Nursing.

Following these accomplishments I worked in the industry for a couple of years before starting to grow my husband and I’s family with a daughter in November 2022.The following year I worked as a tech for a local equine vet until the arrival of my next daughter in December 2024 bought about a change from this.

So here I am, a Mum of two with a passion for animals, especially horses, ready to start this new adventure alongside my friend.
